Using centuries old traditional woodworking techniques and meticulously sourced materials, Rudolf's dedication to creating exceptional instruments is evident in the quality of the timbre and tone of his violins, violas and cellos. Rudolf works to commission as well as crafting a small number of stock instruments each year.
Restoration
Rudolf also specialises in repairs and restorations to quality instruments, as well as the optimisation of instrumental tone. Bow repair and restoration is a particular specialisation, along with reconditioning and re-hairing. All re-hairing of bows includes an initial inspection of the bow, a condition report and, as work proceeds, full cleaning and replacement of head, frog and spreader wedges.
Bow Making
Over the years Rudolf has sourced an exquisite collection of the rare pernambuco wood from which quality bows have traditionally been made for more than two centuries. Crafting each bow with millimeter precision and traditional methods, Rudolf is dedicated to selecting the finest pernambuco pieces and pairing them with just the right ebony, silver and ivory components along with other authentic materials to create beautifully balanced bows.

Every one of Rudolf's hand crafted instruments is unique, expertly crafted to accentuate the natural characteristics of the carefully selected tonewoods.
Carefully selected Instruments
Rudolf carries a small stock of high quality older bows which have been expertly brought into full playing condition. He is also able to source instruments, either from his private collection of select instruments or through his trusted contacts and experienced knowledge of the field. Most popular makes of strings are stocked or are obtainable within 24 hours with a full fitting service.
